Modern Technology – Measurable Results
Our facility offers full-scale laboratory provides a comprehensive suite of tests for fluids and solids. Utilizing Stage 3 Separation’s full-service solids control includes our laboratory’s extensive testing capabilities without any cost. The Stage 3 Laboratory also performs a variety of industry fluid and solids testing for customers looking only for laboratory work.
Our Lab Sample Process

1. Sample Planning
As part of our scoping project, we determine what samples we need to take, establish the client’s KPIs and frequency of sampling throughout the duration of your project.
2. Collection
Our field technicians collect samples based on proper timing, location and technique and label each sample with a specific and unique RFID identifier.
3. Field Analysis
The collected samples are properly weighed and retorts are burned to begin the data collection and to help the technician optimize the equipment on site.
4. Transportation to Lab
Every week, sample boxes are retrieved from the location and transported to our laboratory.
5. PSD or QA/QC Analysis
The lab will begin the process of QA/QC on each sample and run PSA’s for a deeper look into the equipment performance.
6. Sample Disposal
Once further analysis is complete, we hold our samples for additional 3 weeks in the event of retesting. We then dispose of our samples in a waste-to-energy disposal process through a large national waste company.

Performance solids control lab services
Stage 3 Separation’s Performance Solids Control package utilizes in-house project managers to ensure the correct suite of tests are performed for each project. This testing includes field testing and in-house laboratory testing. Once testing has been completed, the project managers will provide in depth analysis of the operations with regards to test results as well as recommendations for improvements.
Environmental lab services
Environmental reclamation of fluids can include a unique set of challenges. Whether you are releasing back to a surface pond, freshwater stream, or a disposal site you must be sure your discharge is within the required specification. The Stage 3 Laboratory will create a customized field lab to provide on the job analysis of the discharge stream to give you confidence in our performance. The in-house laboratory can perform additional testing to satisfy customer specifications or environmental regulations.
3rd party lab services
Are you looking to verify the quality of your drilling fluids? Perhaps you want to determine the lifespan of your drilling mud based on particle size? Could downhole tool failures be related to the quality of the mud? These questions and more can be answered by utilizing Stage 3 Laboratory’s low-cost testing services. We believe that important decisions should be based on data. Historically however this testing was expensive and had long turnaround times. In fact, sometimes a sample would be submitted by a customer to another laboratory only to get the results weeks after a decision was already made. This results in wasted time, wasted money and a decision that was not based on data. Stage 3 Laboratory has a guaranteed turn around time of 5 business days on all samples and can complete some testing within 24 hours of receiving samples for expedited service.
