Fred Lausen, Jr.
Chairman & CEO
The management team of Stage 3 Separation has a long history of working together in the solids control space. The team is led by Chairman and CEO Fred Lausen, Jr. who made a name for himself in the development of solids control industry through his first company Houston Prime Pipe and Supply founded in 1991. Houston Prime was instrumental in the development of turnkey services designed for closed loop fluid systems in land drilling applications. Mr. Lausen sold Houston Prime in 1998 and later founded, Separation Services (SSI) that sought to provide exceptional service and performance in the solids control arena. SSI was sold in 2005 to Stallion Oilfield Services, launching the company into the solids control business, and where he served as the President of Stallion Solids Control from 2005 to 2009.
Mr. Lausen founded Stage 3 Separation, LLC in 2009 and has propelled the company to a leading position in the solids control field by redefining technologies, processes, and service offerings for solids control. He also serves on the Board of Directors for Stage 3 Separation.
Jarod McBride
President
Mr. Jarod McBride joined Stage 3 Separation in 2010 and now serves as President of Stage 3 Separation, LLC (S3S). His primary responsibilities include strategic planning and implementation across Energy and Environmental Services business units. Mr. McBride has held numerous positions within Stage 3 Separation since 2010 including VP of Operations. Prior to joining Stage 3 Separation Mr. McBride was the Operations Manager at Advanced Solids Control and has held other positions within the oil and gas service industry since 2005. Before entering the oilfield service business, he co-owned and operated Set Wave Industries, LLC which marketed and branded Spider Murphy surfboards. Mr. McBride graduated from Texas A&M Corpus Christi in 2004 with a B.B.A. in Management. He also serves on the Board of Directors for Stage 3 Separation.
Tom Atkinson
Executive Vice President, Supply Chain
Mr. Tom Atkinson serves as Executive Vice President, Supply Chain at Stage 3 Separation, LLC (S3S). His primary responsibilities include coordinating efforts between the administration and field operations, as well as overall strategic planning and direction of S3S. Prior to joining S3S, Mr. Atkinson was General Manager at Stallion Solids Control from 2005 to 2009. He held the same position of General Manager for Separation Services, Inc. from 1999 until 2005. SSI was sold to Stallion Oilfield Services, which was the beginning of solids control operations for them. From 1993 until 1998, Mr. Atkinson served as Operations Manager at Houston Prime Pipe and Supply, Inc., which was sold to Newpark Resources in 1998. His oilfield career began in 1989, when he joined System Pipe and Supply as an outside sales representative. Mr. Atkinson attended Stephen F. Austin University.
Matt Carlson
Executive Vice President, Administration
Mr. Matt Carlson serves as Vice President, Administration at Stage 3 Separation, LLC (S3S). His primary responsibilities include contract administration, cost control, company financial planning, supervision of administrative staff, and special projects. Prior to joining Stage 3 Separation, he owned his own State Farm Insurance Agency from 2008 thru 2010 and was ranked in the top 30 for all new agencies in the United States for life insurance sales. Prior to his insurance career, Mr. Carlson was the PGA Head Golf Professional at Royal Oaks Country Club in Houston, TX from 2004 to 2008. He was instrumental in the development of operational systems as a PGA Assistant Golf Professional, which allowed Royal Oaks to open in 2000 to rave reviews. He also served as a PGA Professional at two clubs in Colorado. Mr. Carlson graduated from Baylor University in 1997 with a B.B.A in Accounting.
Tommy Angelle
Executive Vice President, Sales
Mr. Tommy Angelle serves as Executive Vice President at Stage 3 Separation, LLC (S3S). Mr. Angelle has 35 years of experience and provides valuable market knowledge in the oil service industry. Prior to joining Stage 3 Separation, Mr. Angelle served as founder and co-owner of Cajun Construction Service Inc. from 1986 through 1997. Mr. Angelle sold Cajun Construction Service Inc. to Newpark Resources. Mr. Angelle then quickly joined the BLR Companies as co-owner. He sold BLR Companies to Stallion Oilfield Services in 2006, launching Stallion’s construction division.
Nick Phillips
Executive Vice President, OFS Sales
Mr. Nick Phillips serves as Oilfield Sales Director of Stage 3 Separation, LLC (S3S). His primary responsibilities include management of the sales team in all basins operated by Stage 3 Separation. Mr. Phillips has been part of the Stage 3 Separation Team since 2012 and graduated from Oklahoma State University in 2002 with a B.B.A General Business.
